As part of maintaining a high security standard, we are now increasing the length requirement for passwords in FirstAgenda Prepare and FirstAgenda Live. Passwords must now contain at least 16 characters.
At the same time, we are maintaining the other password requirements, so the updated password requirements are:
- Minimum 16 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
What does this mean for existing users?
The tightened password requirements will take effect for all new users created in the system but will only apply to existing users when their current password expires, in case of a forgotten password, or if they wish to change their password for other reasons.
Why are we increasing the requirements?
The reason for increasing the password length requirement is that we are following the recommendation from NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). They recommend a password of at least 16 characters for systems with a high-security classification.
NB: The updated password requirements do not apply if you use AD login.
