We have just released a new update for the Prepare iPad app (version 8.2.0), which you can download from the App Store.
We have performed an extensive technical upgrade "under the hood". This has made the app more stable and future-proof. The update also includes a number of fixes for specific bugs, which are described below.
What's new in this update?
- Improved comment sharing: We have renewed the technical foundation for comment sharing. This ensures a more stable and reliable experience.
- Support links: Now you can easily find the correct support links for your organization. Tap the gear icon and select 'support'.
- Counter in the menu: The bug where the counter for shared comments did not show the correct number has now been fixed.
- Timestamp on comments: The timestamp when you create a comment is now more precise. We have reduced the inaccuracy from 2 hours to just 2 minutes. A final solution will come in the next update.
Important information about text selection and copying
We have improved text selection to make it easier to use, especially when copying text. However, we are aware that there may still be challenges.
This is due to a bug in Apple's PDF Kit, which is a system Apple uses to handle PDF documents in apps. The bug occurred with Apple's latest iOS 18 update and affects, among other things:
- The ability to copy all text at once.
- Difficulties extending a line selection with your finger.
- The VoiceOver reading function, which does not correctly recognize links and images.
Unfortunately, this is a problem that only Apple can fix. We expect them to resolve the bug in their upcoming iOS update.
