Yes, when the meeting is finished, you must remember to stop the ongoing recording.
If the recording continues beyond the end of the meeting, there will be a notification at the user interface that will alert you that the meeting has stopped.
Important: If there is a need to extend an ongoing recording beyond the end of the meeting, the Assistant can continue recording for up to 60 minutes.
How to stop an ongoing recording of a meeting
- Go to the meeting
- Click "Stop" to stop the recording
- Or "End" if you don't have the recording dashboard open
You can resume the recording again if you have stopped the meeting by mistake.
If you forgot to stop the recoring by the end of the meeting
If you don't stop the recording at the end of the meeting, you will see a notification where you can choose if you want to keep or delete the extra recording time. If you choose to keep the extra recording time, the audio file will be processed into the final audio minutes. If you do not choose to keep the extra recording time, Assistant will automatically shorten the audio file to fit the meeting start and end time.
Why is it beneficial to keep or remove audio files recorded beyond the end of the meeting?
It may happen, once in a while, that you forget to stop the recording after the end of the meeting. So, to avoid unnecessary "pocket noise" or a coffee conversation with your colleague at the coffee machine, it may be a good idea to remove unnecessary content for the meeting.
In addition, there may also be situations where a meeting goes beyond the original end time of the meeting, where it would be a good idea to have the entire audio file processed in the final meeting report.
